Why should you hire a personal trainer? The answer is simple; motivation, in depth knowledge, and faster
results. Anyone can buy free weights or gym equipment, however, the
general population does not have the knowledge or proper motivation to
achieve a higher level of fitness. The job of a personal trainer
is to make sure their clients are doi
What should you look for in a trainer? In Arizona training certifications are not regulated by the state. Any average Joe can go online for a couple of hours and get certified. Look for someone who is in respectable shape themselves with a degree in this field or an iron clad certification such as ACE, ISSA, or IFPA. In addition, all trainers should offer a fitness assessment, record medical histories, and set up workout plans prior to each session. A good trainer should also keep the routines interesting and different to avoid boredom. The client should look forward to their sessions every week. The fitness assessment is a way for the trainer and the potential client to make sure they will work well together. The assessment generally lasts about an hour and requires minimal physical activity. This time allows the trainer to get an idea of what kind of shape the person is already in and how their body reacts to certain movements. Forms are also filled out including but not limited to; medical history, goals, daily activities, diet, stress levels, and the training agreement. How does everything work? A typical training session lasts about an hour. The client starts off with a ten minute cardio warm up. This means extensive cardio must be done on the clients own time. The next 40-50 minutes involve weight and strength training. The most commonly used equipment includes; free weights, swiss balls, medicine balls, bands, body weight, and machines. The last few minutes are open for stretching. Sessions are held at a private gym. This type of setting allows for a full workout with the least amount of distractions. This is ideal for women who may be a little self conscious and do not enjoy having a room full of people staring at them. Being a female trainer allows me to better connect with and understand women. I am familiar with the psychology of a woman. Men can deal with being yelled at and pushed to their limits. Women however, will get the best workout possible but will be motivated in a more refreshing manor.
